Law enforcement officers used a chemical agent to subdue a suspect Wednesday evening in Colorado Springs, news sources report. According to a local news station, police tried to contact the 29-year-old suspect on Wednesday in an apartment complex near Monterey Road and circle Drive.
Police suspected the man for trespassing and burglary.
Around six in the evening, witnesses reported the man inside an apartment bedroom, but the suspect refused to leave when law enforcement contacted him. According to law enforcement, the man pushed furniture against the door of the bedroom and used the building's attic space to enter neighboring apartments.
Law enforcement officers began to evacuate the other apartments so that they could place a chemical agent in some of the rooms.
Shortly after midnight, the man left the attic space and was arrested by police. In addition to the original charges, the man will face four counts of felony trespassing, along with a protection order violation.
